What's your chosen Charity?

What and why are your charities of choice?
Family one we gave to, and some family volunteered at, was St Luke's Hospice for care it helped with some family members.
Recently I support Birmingham Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. For the help and what they did for my son.
What about you lot?

I'll throw all the above some shekels but to be honest theres too many charity demands thrown at me, even at work sometimes there's a fucking chugger standing there trying to get you cough up straight out of your pay slip, bet she doesn't stand there all day for fuck all doing it out of the kindness of her heart.
Knew a really skanky pair of soap Dodgers in Brixton whose kid was in the same class as mine. They did fuck all apart from wallow in their own more.
Bought an 800k property. Their parents were 'big in charity.'

About eight years ago my missus invited some friends over for my one and only surprise birthday bash. In fact it wasn't a surprise when I got home as she sent me out on an errand and while I was out I left parked the car and went for a walk in the forest for a bit of chainsmoking. By the time I got back to the car there were lots of missed calls and a photo message of everyone sitting waiting for me.
Anyway when I finally got back and into a bottle of sparkling white a girl from the National Deaf Children's charity happened to knock on the door. While all my guests stared at me I felt rather obliged to commit to a monthly donation. Never bothered to cancel it as it's probably a nice thing to do. They send me a little booklet about deaf children every so often.

Not a bit of it.
I stick 50 quid in the pot and the carers pop out and order a decent meal for the 20 - 30 homeless people that happen to be in the night shelter that particular evening.
The church see none of it.
It may not even help those who get an unexpected slap-up meal in the long run, but them getting into the shelter is the real start, and, in real time, it makes a big, non-headline difference to a couple of dozen people.

I give generously every year to the Lifeboats, local hospice, British Legion at poppy time and the crematorium where mybold man’s ashes are to help with upkeep.
Most recently I’ve given to Isla’s Fight.

Salaries of "CEO"s of major charities...
Save The Children 150k p.a.
British Red Cross 173k p.a.
Marie Stopes 420k p.a.
Here's a thought...next time you see an ad that says 'Donate just 1 pound and you could save a life' write to the charity and suggest that if the CEO gives up 25,000 pounds of his inflated salary he could save 25,000 lives.
